Foundation for Practice Success: Leadership Success in a veterinary practice is NOT dependent upon one person but upon a group of diverse individuals utilizing their skills to the best interest of all the stakeholders---the pets, the pet owners, the staff members, the management and the ownership. It takes great leadership and management skills to build a successful team. A team that makes great music takes a conductor. A team without that leader creates cacophony. Foundation for Practice Success: Vision, Mission Values Veterinarians and their teams are so deeply embedded in the day to day tasks of running a practice that they lose sight of their vision, mission, and core values. Assuming that they have them. Those practices that are most successful will WONJI. What is WONJI- -Working ON Not Just IN their practices. Learn how to WONJI to set your path for success. Foundation for Practice Success: Standard Operating Procedures Do you feel as if every day you are returning to square one when it comes to training? Are you re-inventing the wheel from 800 AM to 600 PM? Is there no consistency in what your team is doing between people; each day, let alone each hour? You need an Operations Manual or Cook Book full of processes or recipes that everybody can refer to and be taught by to provide a consistent experience for every stakeholder in your practice. Foundation for Practice Success: The Client Experience The experiences of your patients, clients, and staff all have defined steps that can be identified and mapped out. These steps and maps when documented and saved will increase efficiencies, consistency and profitability. Learn how to map the various experience and create a predictable outcome for your patients, clients and staff Foundation for Practice Success: Measure to Manage To move your practice forward in an effective and efficient fashion you need to collect data and information that will help you to navigate towards the outcome you so desire. Your practice management software and accounting information can give you more information than you know what to do with. What numbers are most relevant? Where can you find them? How can you monitor them? What do they mean? And, most importantly what impacts them and what to do when they indicate you are not on track? Learning Objectives: Identify key performance indicators; identify which ones of the many are most relevant; create a tracking dashboard; identify what impacts the KPIs and what you can do to address them. Foundation for Practice Success: The Money Talk Talking clients about money is one of the most uncomfortable conversations that we have in practice. Sometimes the difference between life and death is determined by the effectiveness and ease of this conversation. Perfecting this discussion is needed to decrease the fear, anxiety and pain that results from presenting the invoice and discussing the payment options |

IDEAS INTO ACTION: A User’s Manual For Pets Cars have them. Washers have them. But pets don't come with one. An instruction manual!! You can’t leave a auto dealership without having them go over the details of the maintenance of the care. Why don't we have a user’s manual for a clients pets that delineate their current needs and future needs while also addressing any breed specific issues that might arise. Throw in some nutritional advice and behavioral resources, and you might actually help the client and pet relationship because the client might actually have a better understanding of their new family member. A great way to help clients understand your expectations for patient care and their needs as a responsible pet owner. IDEAS INTO ACTION: No More Sucky Staff Meetings Let’s be honest: most veterinary staff meetings are a drain on time and morale. It’s time to ditch the "death by PowerPoint." This session provides actionable strategies to transform your huddles into efficient, high-impact gatherings that actually improve patient care and team culture. Stop dreading the calendar. IDEAS INTO ACTION: Three Ps to Perfection Thriving in a disrupted world means making choices. You can choose to focus on the bottom line sometimes to the detriment or sacrifice of your values and people. Or, you can create a mission and vision that encompasses your team and a mission that all can follow. A grand purpose supported by great people will provide the profits you are looking for without compromising your vision. |
